Attorney General Terry Goddard announced last June 25 of 2009 that the Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc. owned by Graham Gibson has to pay a fine of $ 1,375,000 for settlement after losing the case of consumer fraud lawsuit filed against the company last December 2008.
The company has been proven to use misleading Acai supplement marketing in order to gain profit from its clients. It offers low cost and “risk free” Acai food supplements to its customers. However, once a consumer avail the offer of the company, additional fees from hidden services and products are also included in the billing. Since the consumer is not advised about the additional charges, the company has clearly violated the law. In addition, consumers will continuously receive the costly products every month even if they do not want it.
When the victims try to contact the said company regarding the unauthorized fees, it just put them on hold for several hours or just never answers their call or emails.
It is important to take notice that the Acai product the company is using in its shady deals is not bad. In fact, it was used by CCN in fraud because much people are into Acai products due to its many health benefits.
